About the Winthrop Art Association
The Winthrop Art Association was founded in 1969 by Winthrop resident Beverly Brody Barisano and other local artists with the idea of promoting the arts in the community.
In the years since then, the Winthrop Art Association has grown to more than 150 members, and engages in a wide variety of activities that benefit both the artistic community and the town as well.
The Annual Spring Arts Festival, the main component of which is a juried exhibit featuring members of the WAA and artists of surrounding communities. In addition, craft tables, demonstrations by artisans and sometimes displays by local businesses round out a two-day event that invites and involves the community in 'The Arts Festival'.
