Spring 2008 Art Festival

Saturday, April 26th, 12pm to 6pm

Sunday, April 27th, 11am to 4pm

Sunday, open reception 2 to 4pm

Location:

Winthrop Senior Center, 35 Harvard Street, Winthrop (behind the White Hen Pantry)

Along with the Art work there will be several tables of original crafts.

Notice to all participating artists, remember that you must be a paid up member to enter 3 pieces of artwork into the festival.  All others may put in two.   Also, in order to enter the festival your work must be recent and original.  There may be not copies of any kind.  You may use your own reference material only such as your own photos and ideas.  If you have any questions, please contact:

There will be No Chili and Chowder Festival this year.  We will have one next year. 
The WAA has decided to do the Chili and Chowder Fest every other year.

WAA’s Chili and Chowder Festival March 3, 2007

The Chili and Chowder Festival on March 3rd was a total success and was well attended.  Everything was delicious.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Judges, Nancy Williams, Director of the Senior Center, Mike Cabral, Executive Director of WCAT and Frank DaLoia, past School Committee member.  We would also like to thank The Winthrop Arms for a nice donation to the festival, Gary’s Crystal Cove Restaurant for Gift Certificate for our raffle, Letterie’s for Gift Certificates for our raffle and Beverly Barisano, Brenda Curry, Terry O’Connor, Terry McDonald and Dawn Mahoney for putting together great gift baskets.  Last we want to thank Costco, Stop & Shop and Shaws for their donations.  The most important thank you goes to this year’s entries.   THANK YOU ALL!          

Images 2006 Exhibition of Sacred Art and Poetry update;
This special show was held on the weekend of Nov. 3-5, 2006
The Chairperson was Patricia Bruen Tacelli.  It was held at St. John’s The Evangelist Church.  Judge was Robert Farris, Jr., 1st place, Kimberly Christie for her photo “Hands of Time”, 2nd place, Dottie Doucette, “Angels of the Sea”, 3rd place Pauline Bacon, “Wells Beach”, Judge’s award to Alice Harrison for “Best Friends”, Honorable Mension to Pat Bonita, “Abandoned Church, Kari Sullivan “Apprentice Pillar at Roslyn Chapel”, Gert Honan’s “Mother Theresa”, Jeanette Lazarus, for “Study”, Lorraine Shannon, “Earth Dancer” and Most Popular, Stella Simione for “Madonna”.
