This Season starts on Tuesday Sept. 2nd.
This demonstration will be with Crist Filer with his unique watercolor style.
Tuesday, Oct. 7th
Philip Ellen will show us his wonderful wildlife photography from Africa.
Tuesday, Nov. 4th.
We are still working on this date. When it is booked you will be able to find
out by watching WCAT or getting the Winthrop Transcript or call Dawn Mahoney.
Tuesday, Dec. 2nd
This month we will have Dottie Doucette demonstrating her many craft ideas.
Dottie is also accomplished oil painter, watercolorist and pastel artist.
Yard Sale Wrap-up:
On July 12th the WAA had a fund raising yard sale and we did excellent in sales.
We were fortunate to receive a lot of donations from some businesses and
individuals. With the help of these people and some of our members we were
able to pull in $656.85. This will help defray our expenses for this year’s
programming/demonstrations etc.
On August 30th some of our members our having another yard sale at the Mahoney’s, 49 Bartlett Rd. For information on this, contact Dawn at 617-846-2644.
The WAA “Art On The Square” will be held Saturdays, September 6th
and 20th from 9 AM to 1 PM. This will be held in French Square in the Center.

Fall Foliage Day Trip
We will be going to Mystic, CT. this year on Sunday, October 19th. The price will be $52 each and we will be stopping a Clyde’s Cider Mill, Mystic Art Association then to Lunch at the Seaman’s Inn, Mystic Seaport if possible and Old Mystic Village and if there is still time we will stop at a farm for pumpkins etc. I f you are interested in taking this day trip contact Dawn Mahoney at 617-846-2644. Our bus is more than three-quarters full, so make your reservations now. Last year we had two buses but this year we are only going to have one bus. We always have an incredible day so don’t miss this trip.

Holiday Bazaar:
This year’s Holiday Bazaar will be held the last weekend in November
(11/29) from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Winthrop Senior Center. If you wish a table
you should contact Chairman, Jennifer McCarthy at 617-539-1017.

¨ Dawn Mahoney will be doing a demonstration on scratch and inked photography
for the Watertown Art Association on Tuesday, November 11th and another demonstration
on pen and ink and ink wash for the Reading Art Association on Wednesday, February
11th. If you would like anymore -information on these demos contact Dawn at

Topsfield Fair is coming up and if you would like to enter the art exhibit
contact Topsfield Fair, P.O. Box 134, Topsfield, MA 01983. You can contact
Dawn for a copy of the application.

Lynn Arts, Inc. is having an exhibit called Wave-Length. This is a national
open juried exhibit to all artwork influenced by the nautical, electrical,
musical or other implications of the title Wavelength’. Any medium and
viewpoint welcome. The show dates are Sept. 20th to Oct. 17th. If you are interested
Dawn also has applications for this exhibit.
