WINTER 2008 WAA NEWSLETTER
Happy belated New Year Everyone!!
The Winthrop Art Association has decided to limit our newsletters to three per year. If you think you have missed one, you probably have not. All mail is sent first-class, please talk to your mail carrier, if you are not receiving it..
We start this New Year off with a heavy heart, as two of our members have passed away. Board Member, Margaret Apruzzese and Barbara Moynahan. Peace to them both, they will be missed.
Demos are held at the Winthrop Senior Center, 35 Harvard St., Winthrop. If you have any questions about the WAA, contact Dawn at 617-846-2644. The WAA has only 4 demonstration meetings per year.
Next Demo is February 5th, Tuesday at 7:30 pm
We will be hosting Frank Costantino, a local architectural and watercolor artist. He will be demonstrating his watercolor techniques.
Frank is an award-winning architectural illustrator for 35 years in his hometown of Winthrop, he is also an accomplished watercolor painter. Not only has he provided his national clientele of architects and developers with illustrations of various projects around the world, but he also paints his own vision of special places and things. The artist is continually inspired from many eras and cultures.
April 1st Tuesday at 7:30 pm
A representative of Atelier Interactive Acrylic Paints, an Australian Co., will be here to show us how to use them. It will be an interactive demo. Bring paper, brushes, water container etc. so you can learn and paint along.
There will be no Chili and Chowder Festival this year. We will have one next year. The WAA has decided to do the Chili and Chowder Fest every other year.
This year’s festival will be the weekend of April 26th and 27th. Drop-off and Set-up will be Friday, April 25th from 3PM to 7PM. All the information is in this envelope. I must emphasize that you have to be a paid up member to be able to put three pieces of artwork in the festival. Our membership runs from September to September. We will not be accepting any dues at the door. Craft tables can be set-up Friday evening at 7PM no earlier and 9:30AM to 12PM on Saturday morning.
