January 2005 Newsletter:
APRIL!!!!
The Spring Art Festival will be on the weekend of April 30th and May 1st this
year. The date was changed because of Passover. Start getting your work done
for this big weekend. We will need all kinds of help and Dawn is forming
committees now. We especially need help with transporting the easels and
setting them up. If you are at all interested, please contact her at 617-846-2644.
We need all the help we can get.
Please make sure you pay your dues before the Festival this year because if
you don’t you will not be able to put 3 pieces in, you will only be able
to put in 2. You will not be able to pay dues at the door this year to be able
to put in 3 pieces.

The WAA is planning a spring day trip to two museums in the western part of the state. First to the contemporary MassMoca Museum in North Adams then to lunch, (to be decided on) and then to the traditional Bennington Art Museum, in Bennington, VT then back through Shelburne Falls and then home. This trip will cost approximately $59 each. As the buses usually fill up fast, please contact Dawn at 617-846-2644 as soon as possible.
NEW SPACE TO DISPLAY
Great Opportunity for new place to display our work. Massport has offered the
Winthrop Art Association space to display our work at one of their terminals,
either Terminal E or the new Terminal A is where Delta is located. They are
looking primarily large pieces for the walls because the space is quite large.
This would happen for the month of April and would be up for a month. Please
fill out the application enclosed. If you are interested, please contact Beverly
Barisano at 617-846-5305 and Dawn Mahoney at 617-846-2644, as soon as possible.
June Dinner and Election Meeting
This year we are doing something a little different. We are planning a POT
LUCK dinner to be held at the Senior Center. We are looking for your best
culinary creations. Everyone on the mailing is invited. If you are bringing
something, contact Terry O’Connor at 617-946-1878. She will be coordinating
the dinner.
