The Spring Festival will be held on the weekend of May 1st and 2nd, and set-up is Friday, April 30th.

Spring Festival Application Information
Just a reminder, you have to be a paid-up member to enter 3 pieces of work in the Festival. No dues will be accepted at the door during set-up day of the Festival.
In this newsletter you will find this year's Festival raffle tickets. We are sending you 12 tickets at $1 each or 6 for $5. Selling these tickets helps to pay for the Festival. The prizes are money and various other prize donations
February 2nd demo/meeting will be held at the Senior Center as usual. This demo meeting is a bit different this month. We will have a workshop for anyone who wishes to join in. We will have a live model and a still life set-up. You may use any medium you wish. Come and try your hand at some art. We will be setting-up at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be served.

April 6th demonstration we will be featuring Artist Giles Laroche. Giles is an Illustrator of Children's Books with a very impressive list of credits. He will also demonstrate his amazing skill with cut paper. This should be a very exciting demonstration. Refreshments will be served. We will be starting at 7:30 PM. At the Winthrop Senior Center, 35 Harvard St., Winthrop.

Carol Merola, our co-president has been ill since November and is now recovering nicely. We wish all our best to her.
We would like to thank Moonstruck Cafe in Winthrop Center for showcasing several of our local artists. The WAA had a group show there for the month of December. A few pieces of that show were sold. Our member Phillip Ellin has an exhibit there now of his wildlife photography for the month of January.
Kaari Sullivan has one of her photos published in the "Photographer's Forum, Best of Photography 2009" Kaari's photo the "Widow Maker" was chosen to be published. This photo was a first place winner in the WAA 2009 Spring Art Festival. Congrats Kaari!!!
Crist Filer has been very busy lately, he has recently been juried into these gallery's and exhibitions: Amazing Gallery Summer Show; Caladan Gallery Show: "Gesture, Action, Expression." Post Road Art Center Shows: "Animals", "Landscapes," "Winter Open Show;" Rhode Island Watercolor Society Show"; Concord Art Association, "Francis N. Roddy Open Competition show."
