ART FESTIVAL COMING!!!!!
MAY 6TH & 7TH

The WAA Art Festival’s dates have been changed due to scheduling conflict.  The new dates are Saturday, MAY 6TH and Sunday, MAY 7TH .
DROP-OFF WILL BE ON Friday, MAY 5TH FROM 3-7PM.  The reception will now be on Sunday from 2-4PM.  The new times of the Festival are Saturday, from 12pm to 6pm and Sunday, from 12pm to 4pm.  Please make a note of these changes!

Enclosed please find raffle tickets.  We need your help in selling them.  We help defray the cost of the Festival by these raffle tickets.  We have $100, $50 and $25 and a grand prize usually donated.

Tuesday, April 4th will be our last Demonstration of the season.  We are fortunate to have Robert Farris, doing an Oil Painting Demo.  The demo starts 7:30 at the Senior Center on 35 Harvard Ave, Winthrop.  The demo is free to anyone who wishes to attend.  If you have any questions, contact Dawn at 617-846-2644.

 June Dinner Meeting & Election of the Board 

We are looking for some new people who are interested in joining the board to contact the WAA before May 15th at 617-846-2644. 

This year’s dinner will be at Gary’s Crystal Cove Grill & Seafood.  The price is $25 per person and the dinner will be on Tuesday, June 6th from 7:30 to 9:30.  If you would like to sign-up for the WAA dinner, contact Dawn at 617-846-2644.

The Chili and Chowder Festival was a complete success this year and we couldn’t be happier.  Everyone was happy filling up on some good eating.  Our winners were:  Judges choice for clam chowder, in the restaurant category was, The Clam Box, of East Boston and in the individual category, Pat Bonita.  The judge’s choice for chili in the restaurant category was Hot Digity and judges choice for individual was Nick DelVento.  The peoples choice in clam chowder for a restaurant went to Gary’s Crystal Cove Grill & Seafood and the peoples choice for and individual for clam chowder went to Kaari Sullivan.  The peoples choice for chili in the restaurant category went to
Hot Diggity, and the peoples choice in the individual category for chili went to Nick DelVento.  We also had raffles in which some of our members donated theme baskets and Rossetti’s and Gary’s restaurants donated gift certificates.  We would like to thank Coffee Beans, Dunkin Donuts, Orient Hights and

Costco for the donation of muffins.  We would like to thank all who helped run this event.

At the Winthrop Federal Credit Union,  President,Carol Merola has a display of her artwork.  You should try and get down there to see it.  The WAA has on going displays of featured artists and group shows there year round.  You can see the displays during regular banking hours.  The Federal Credit Union is located on 15 Woodside Ave. in the center of town.

George Barisano:  Artwork of vintage sheet music from the collection of George Barisano is being shown at the Connolly Library 433 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain.  You can see his display during regular library hours. For info contact Beverly or George Barisano at 617-846-5905.
