WAA May 2004 NEWSLETTER
We are looking forward to a very full summer this year.

JUNE 1st
The Annual Dinner will be held at il Pastiao this year. It is almost full so if you are interested in going call Dawn Mahoney @ 617-846-2644, as soon as possible. The dinner will be a buffet of some of the restaurants best dishes. The cost is $20 and it starts at 7PM and you can bring your own alcoholic beverage if you wish. We will be announcing the board of directors for the 2004-2005 year.

JUNE 26TH
Winthrop Art Association YARD SALE, at 49 Bartlett Rd., Winthrop. The Mahoney’s! This has become an annual Fundraiser for the Art Association. We did well last year and the money we raised paid for our programming during the year. Please come and support this event. If you have any donations for the yard sale, contact Dawn at 617-846-2644. The times for the yard sale are from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Saturday, July 24th will be Art in the Square.
This year we will be only doing one day in French Square, in the Center. It will be from 9 AM to 1 PM. All members are invited to put up a table and sell their craft or artwork. This is a nice time for our members to sell their work and there is no charge to you for this and all you make is yours.

Festival at Crest Ave. Park, Saturday, August 14th
This is something new this year. The WAA will be doing an outdoors-mini show much like Art In The Square. Each artist or crafter can set-up their own display and sell their work and work if they wish. This is also for members only. You must be a paid-up member to be able to participate. This is a great opportunity to bring the artists to a new area of town. This will also start at 9 AM and will last longer than the Center, we will end at around 3 or 4 PM. We should have a lot more traffic because this is one of the only two entrances to the town.

If you are interested in either of these, contact Dawn Mahoney as soon as possible. 617-846-2644

Fall Foliage Trip – Sunday, October 17th
This year we will be busing our way to the Lakes Region in NH. We will leave the highway and go through Laconia, Weirs Beach, Medideth, Moltonborough, and Wofboro. We will be stopping at Mills Falls in Merideth, Harts Turkey Farm for Lunch, Castle in the Clouds, and a Stop in Wofboro. This trip will cost $52 for the day and we will be leaving at about 7:30 AM and returning at about 7:30 PM. This is a very successful and fun trip that we do every year and we intend on having more fun this year. If you would like to go, contact Dawn at 617-846-2644. We already have a number of people signed up so don’t take too long to decide. The bus fills up fast.
